news: It's A Wrap on LFNO 2018

December 7, 2018

What a fun night! APA’s annual event celebrating female filmmakers in Arizona was held on Friday, November 16, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.  Guests comprised of filmmakers, producers, crew, talent and film supporters were treated to a tasty appetizer buffet and desserts provided by APA and supplied by Creations in Cuisine.

Ten shorts were screened, with Judith Eisenberg taking home the “Audience Favorite” award for “The Secret Lives of Teachers.” APA member Producer Amanda Melby was our special guest speaker on the topic “Making the Leap from Short– to Long-Format Films.”

Thanks again to all of our wonderful sponsors:  Reel Men; DYNAMIC! Productions, LLC; Dani’s Agency, Broadcast Rentals and Verve Studios; to our volunteer judges: Marcia Calosio, Kate Herbert, Stephanie Lucas, Suzanne Johnson and Judy Moore, and to the dedicated volunteers who worked on the event, including producers Judy Moore and Julie Lee, Technical Director Donald T. Woodard, and event staff Leah Williams and Ruth Eichelberger. We’d also like to thank everyone who submitted shorts, and all those who attended.

What types of EVENTS would YOU like APA to provide for you in 2019? If you're an APA Member, please complete the short survey on page 4 of the December issue of our printed newsletter, On the Arizona Set, (which has been mailed out to you), and return it with your ballot. Thanks!
