April 3, 2015
We’re excited to announce that our April workshop will focus on LIGHTING. This is a GREAT way to fine tune your existing skills and/or learn NEW ones from seasoned professionals Rick Pease and Eric Koski. This will be a three-hour seminar from 9:00 am to Noon, with lunch AND a Q&A included!

Topics we hope to cover include:

 - 3 lighting set ups

- Exterior with silks and boards

- Interior with Tungsten lighting

- Interior with florescent or mixed lighting

The workshop will be held at Reel Men, 2225 E. McDowell Road in Phoenix. Reel Men is Arizona's largest rental house – a true one-stop shop for your next production.  From camera and lighting, to grip, trucks, generators, Fisher 10 dollies, and production supplies, Reel Men has the gear you need and a friendly, service-oriented attitude to ensure the success of your next project.

APA Member Rick Pease will illustrate how a pro "builds" a lighting setup and why you choose certain lighting instruments. With more than 30 years experience shooting all formats of film and video, Director of Photography Rick Pease and the productions he has shot have garnered numerous awards regionally, nationally, and internationally. Although mainly focused on national and regional commercials, Rick has shot a multitude of other projects with crews and budgets of all sizes.

APA Member Eric Koski will talk about the different lights, color temperature, wattage, stands, etc. and the proper way to set a c-stand. Eric has worked professionally in the film business since 1993. As a Gaffer, Eric has been the Chief Lighting Technician for feature films, television, commercials, and corporate broadcasts, working with DPs to develop lighting as a visual element, ordering the correct lighting instruments, and hiring and managing a crew of trained technicians to light the set.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL EMPHASIZE SAFETY, AND WHY WE HIRE PROS!
