APA Member Spotlight: Kelsey Hale, Scottsdale, AZ - www.kelseyhale.com - @Kelsey_Hale 

* Primary production role/s: Photographer 

* What is your professional background (major job positions you've held and where)? 

I'm a fashion, beauty, and editorial photographer who has worked with brands including Sephora, Dior, Vuori, Claire's, and Aritzia. My work has taken me across major creative markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

* How and why did you start working in production?

I was drawn to the storytelling aspect of fashion and editorial photography early on. I began by studying photography in Vancouver, Canada, then moved into an in-house retouching role at Aritzia. From there, I expanded into digital teching, studio management, and retouching for photographer Charlotte Wales, working across New York, London, Paris, and internationally. That experience gave me a strong foundation in production from multiple angles. I later relocated to Los Angeles to pursue photography full-time, and eventually settled in Scottsdale, where I now run my own business.

* What are some of your favorite projects you've worked on?

Photographing the Oscars for The New York Times was an incredible experience, being part of something at that scale is unforgettable. That said, some of my most meaningful projects are the more intimate ones: working with a tight-knit creative team that shares a clear vision and is fully invested in making something exceptional.

* Why should people film in Arizona?

Arizona offers an incredible range of landscapes, from desert to mountain, paired with consistently beautiful light. It's also home to a growing creative community, making it an inspiring and highly versatile place to shoot.
