Spotlight on: Victoria Widener

* Primary production role/s:  Tailor/Seamstress and Wardrobe Assistant

* What is your professional background?

I've been doing wardrobe professionally since 2010, as well as stitching professionally since 2013. Highlights include acting as touring Wardrobe Assistant for Dancing with the Stars Live (2024 US and Canadian tour), Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (2023-2025 Europe, US and Canada) and Chappell Roan's Vision of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things (2025-2026, Europe, US, Australian, South American festival circuit). Master stitcher for Arizona Opera (2014-2018, Phoenix, AZ) and The Phoenix Theatre Company (2019-2022, Phoenix, AZ).

* How and why did you start working in production?

Originally, I come from a fashion design background, but after internships in the Midwest and Los Angeles I decided I wanted to be closer to family and moved back to Phoenix. I started working in costume shops for theater and opera. I also started working backstage prepping costumes, participating in quick changes and developing paperwork for theatrical shows. It has culminated in a wide knowledge base of prep and alterations for commercials, still shoots and concerts.

* What are some of the favorite projects you've worked on?

I worked on the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show featuring Rhianna. A team of 10 wardrobe assistants fit and altered 202 field dancers for the show. We split into teams to complete 150 fittings in one 15-hour day. It's amazing to work on such a large production because you hone your communication skills and have a great time with other industry professionals.

* Why should people film in Arizona?

Blue skies! Although we might have some extreme heat, the sunshine is one of the most consistent attributes of the state. Plus, in the evenings the sunsets are immaculate!
